ABSTRACTrnIMPROVING THE ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE THE LETTERS OF HIJAIYAH THROUGH BIG BOOK MEDIA BASED ON IQRO' METHODrnIN EARLY CHILDRENrn(Classroom Action Research on 5-6 Years Old ChildrenrnAt TPQ Waladush Shalih Bandung)rnByrnPipih PirohayatirnHe ability to recognize hijaiyah letters must be developed from an early age, as a basis for reading, studying and loving the holy book of the Qur'an. Knowing hijaiyah letters for children, not only being able to recognize hijaiyah letters, but making children able to recognize how to pronounce hijaiyah letters that are good and correct. The ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in Waladush Shalih's TPQ at the pre-action stage still tends to be underdeveloped. This can be seen from the 10 children studied, 60% of the children's abilities have not developed and 40% of children are starting to develop. This percentage shows that children have not been able to recognize good and correct hijaiyah letters.rnThis study aims to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters through Big Book media based on the Iqro' method in early childhood at TPQ Waladush Shalih. The model used in this research is Kurt Lewin's model which consists of 2 cycles. The research subjects were 1-10 children consisting of 6 boys and 4 girls. The method to collecting data in this study, are using observation techniques (checklist). Meanwhile, the data analysis technique for this study used descriptive qualitative techniques. Increasing the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters through Big Book media based on the Iqro' method can be said to be successful if the percentage of ability to recognize hijaiyah letters reaches 80% (Assessment criteria, children are able to recognize the original hijaiyah letters without harokat and are able to recognize hijaiyah letters with good and correct pronunciation).rnThe results of this study prove that there is an increase in recognizing hijaiyah letters through Big Book media based on the Iqro method at TPQ Waladush Shalih. This is evidenced by an increase in the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in each cycle. In Cycle I Action I the percentage increase was 47.5%, Cycle I Action II was 66.25%. While in Cycle II, action I was 73.75% and the final result of action in Cycle II was 82.5%.rnBased on the results of the above analysis in Cycle I and Cycle II, it can be concluded that Classroom Action through Big Book media based on the Iqro 'method can improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in early childhood at TPQ Waladush Shalih.rnKeywords: Big Book, Recognize Hijaiyah Lettersrnxirn""
