Children were learn a basic colors through pointing, calling, grouping colors, and sorting colors according to the color pattern. The ability to recognize basic color is one aspect of cognitive abilities, that can be improve the ability to recognize basic color for student group A at TKQ Amanah Bandung. With the color stone, there is a direct involvement of children so they can have direct experience in the learning process. This research using a model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subject in this study were children aged 4-5 years, consisting of 8 boys and 4 girls. The result of the research showed that the ability to recognize basic color can be increased by playing the color stone. In the learning process, children are given the opportunity to play with colored stones according to the instruction or the rules of play given by teacher. The results of the study increased gradually, this can be seen from the data observation . In preaction, cycle I and cycle II, the average gain in preaction is 8,3% for the criteria developing very ell and developing as expected, increasing in cycle I with a percentage of 50% for the criteria developing very well and developing as expected.
